Airsoft, for us a story full of passion, strategy, technology, teamwork, adrenaline and lots of emotions.
Why passion?
Well, it all comes together here. The love of technology, in terms of weapons and equipment, with everything that goes with it. But also everything that goes with it, such as the strategic approach, in a team or alone.
And, of course, the adrenaline that shoots through your body when you're in the game.
All of this triggers passion and emotions.
It is important to remember that although airsoft often uses military tactics and replicas, it is never a glorification of violence, pain and war for us. NEVER!
It's about cohesion, tactical approach and the different techniques for everything that accelerates the small 6mm BBs, knowing that you won't hurt anyone with a hit (always assuming protective equipment).
The variety that this hobby offers in terms of venues, forms of play, but also weapons and their accessories is simply fascinating.
There are all kinds of different locations. These are often old, abandoned military or factory sites. These offer a wide range of possibilities, from combined play in nature and buildings or just in one or the other!
There are no limits to creativity when it comes to game types. From team death matches to re-enactments, where historical events are re-enacted and the players are dressed and equipped accordingly.
There is something for every type of player.
But there are also airsoft enthusiasts who don't play and often don't fire a single shot from their airsoft gun. Because of the great attention to detail, airsoft weapons are also popular as collector's items.
Airsoft guns in particular, which have all the markings and look very similar to the original, are very popular with collectors. Here too, the range is wide, from historical weapons to the most modern short and long guns.
And why airsoft and then softair again?
Well, as with so many other things, international meets national here too. Internationally, the term airsoft is generally used, while here in Germany it is often referred to as softair. In principle, they mean the same thing, although softair also has a closer
has a closer relationship to the legal classifications in Germany, which are largely referred to as softair.
On the whole, however, it's always about the same hobby!
And while we're on the subject of airsoft/softair in a legal context, we'd also like to briefly mention a few small things about this topic!
Softair weapons that have a muzzle energy of less than 0.5 joules are still classified as toys and therefore do not require a corresponding marking on the weapon. They can also be purchased from the age of 14.
For soft air weapons with a muzzle energy of more than 0.5 joules, a marking on the weapon is mandatory. This includes an "F in a pentagon", as well as a marking for the model and importer or company that has had the weapon approved/tested by the PTB.
In addition, it is only permitted to purchase these weapons from the age of 18.
However, the following rules also apply to all soft air weapons, whether under or over 0.5 joules. They may not be carried openly in public, as the Weapons Act states that they are prima facie weapons. This can be read in §42 of the Weapons Act.
A soft air weapon may therefore only be transported in a closed and locked container and only from A to B. It may not be stored in a vehicle. Storage in a vehicle is not permitted.
This is just a brief insight into the handling of softair weapons. There is a lot more to consider!
So if you want to get actively involved in the airsoft hobby, you should definitely take a look at the German Weapons Act to make sure you are always on the safe side legally.
But let's get back to the more enjoyable things in airsoft, and these clearly outweigh the other things!
